Captivated offers several notification options to help you stay informed, whether you’re working from your computer or on the go. You can customize when you receive notifications and how you’re notified.

Set Your Work Schedule

Your work schedule determines when Captivated will send you notifications during your normal working hours. To update your schedule:
  1. Select your profile avatar.
  2. Choose My Profile.
  3. Open the Availability tab.
  4. Select Add a Range (or Edit Schedule if one already exists).
  5. Set your working days , hours and time zone.
  6. Select Save.
Captivated will use this schedule to determine when notifications should be delivered.

Override Your Schedule

Need to temporarily change your availability? Use the I’m Here and I’m Away toggles.

I’m Here

When enabled, you’ll receive notifications outside your scheduled work hours as long as your notification settings are turned on. This is useful if you’re working late, covering for a teammate, or checking messages outside your normal schedule.

I’m Away

When enabled, Captivated will pause all notifications until you switch back to I’m Here or turn the toggle off. This is useful when you’re on vacation, in meetings, or otherwise unavailable.
The I’m Here and I’m Away toggles temporarily override your normal work schedule.

Types of Notifications

Captivated can notify you in three different ways:
  • Browser Notifications
  • Mobile Push Notifications
  • Email Notifications
You’ll receive notifications when:
  • A conversation you’re assigned to or participating in receives a new message.
  • A teammate assigns a conversation to you.
  • A teammate adds you to a conversation.
  • A teammate adds a note to a conversation you’re assigned to or participating in.
  • You’re a Queue Operator and a new incoming conversation is assigned to the queue.

Browser Notifications

Browser notifications appear in the corner of your computer screen, even if Captivated is open in another browser tab. Clicking the notification will take you directly to the conversation.

Enable Browser Notifications

The first time you sign in to Captivated, your browser will ask whether you’d like to allow notifications. Select Allow to receive browser notifications. If you accidentally selected Block, you can re-enable notifications in your browser settings.

Mobile Push Notifications

If you’ve installed the Captivated mobile app, you can also receive push notifications on your phone. Be sure to allow notifications the first time you open the app. You can manage notification settings—including banners, sounds, and badges—from your phone’s notification settings.

How Push Notifications Work

  • If you’re not logged into Captivated on your browser, push notifications are delivered immediately.
  • If you’re actively using Captivated in your browser, push notifications are delayed by approximately one minute to avoid notifying you twice for the same conversation.

Email Notifications

Email notifications are designed as a backup in case you miss browser and mobile notifications. If a conversation you’re assigned to—or participating in—remains unanswered for approximately 10 minutes, Captivated will send an email summarizing the recent activity. Selecting the notification within the email takes you directly to the conversation in Captivated.

Manage Notification Preferences

To turn Browser, Mobile Push, or Email notifications on or off:
  1. Click on profile avatar.
  2. Open My Profile.
  3. Select the Availability tab.
  4. Use the notification toggles to enable or disable each notification type.
You can customize each notification method independently.
